The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order applies to all non-domestic premises and covers a wide range of facilities, including offices, shops, factories, warehouses, schools, hospitals, and more. It also applies to the common areas of residential buildings such as apartment blocks.
The order places a duty on the “responsible person” for a premises to ensure compliance with fire safety requirements. The responsible person is typically the owner, employer, occupier, or manager of the premises. They are required to take reasonable steps to reduce the risk of fire and ensure the safety of people on the premises.
Core Products

Inspection
Fire doors are an integral passive safety system. The inspection of your fire doors is an ongoing legal requirement to ensure they are fully compliant, serviced where necessary and play their part in keeping those in your building safe in an emergency.
Doorset Solutions’ fully trained, and UKAS accredited Fire Door Inspectors have many years of experience so that their scrutiny goes well beyond just checking doors are fit for purpose. Once their assessment has been logged you’ll have access to all the reports afterwards for transparency – with a comprehensive list of any action you need to take to ensure your fire doors are safe and compliant.
The order (RRO) outlines various safety measures that may need to be implemented based on the findings of the fire risk assessment. These measures can include fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, fire doors, evacuation plans, and training for staff, Doorset Solutions may meet those needs and document the requirements.
Repair
Thanks to the early nature of the reporting of any maintenance issues from our NFC data tag, repair costs for Doorset Solutions doors are kept low, as problems are nipped in the bud rather than being allowed to develop and worsen over time.
But for those times when a repair is required, we work quickly to deal with it sending a specially trained engineer out to look at solutions immediately, and, if required, getting a new door fitted. In most cases we can make the latter happen within ten working days. If you have existing fire doors, not from Doorset Solutions, we can support you with making them safe and fit for purpose within your budget by repairing and adjusting them where we can. This includes replacing any necessary components to ensure your doors are fully compliant.
Installation
At Doorset Solutions we work hard to provide the best fire door support on the market, which means we only hire the very best team members. All our fire door inspectors, maintainers and installers are trained to the highest level through recognised and certified third-party accredited schemes, and we are members of UKAS accredited inspection, installation and maintenance schemes.
Working within legal requirements our team ensures complete compliance and fire door safety, installing your doors efficiently and professionally and in the unique parameters of each project.
We use state-of-the-art manufacturing to create our doors and offer bespoke solutions, understanding that the requirements for every project will go beyond safety. The doors we install for you can therefore control noise using acoustic door products; offer high levels of resistance for enhanced security; and protect against cross-contamination via infection control.
For your peace of mind all the doors we install have been third party certified for their safety with IFC certification, or given the BWF-Certifire, BM Trada and Q-Mark schemes’ stamp of approval. Security doors are PAS 24 tested and where required Secured by Design (SBD).
Maintenance
Thanks to the technology we use with our NFC data tags, safety and compliance is loaded onto our systems instantly and therefore maintenance frequency is easily visible.
This saves both money and time – freeing up your health and safety budget to rededicate funds elsewhere and maximising the protection of those within your building. How? Well our technology makes the whole process of maintenance and ongoing inspection much easier for the. person responsible for fire safety at a building, as they can quickly and efficiently log into their database of assets to check where any action needs to be taken. The tag readers therefore support those responsible for fire safety for a building, a role which is hugely important.
Indeed the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 designates “those in control of premises as the responsible person for fire safety and they have a duty to undertake
assessments and manage risks”.
So our systems can support not only that designated person, but also allow them to share the information with other key stakeholders so that safety is visible to all.
